Sound healing is based on the principle of resonance (the vibratory frequency of objects) as the entire universe exists in a state of vibration. When we are not in resonance, our frequencies become dissonant (unhealthy) which contributes to illness. Healing with sound is possible through the application of healing frequencies to the physical and subtle energy fields around the body which helps to restore harmony, clear blockages, and shift imbalances to restore us to our natural rhythm.
Sound has historical origins, as it has been used for centuries in various forms by cultures all over the world to aid in healing. You can find the use of sound in indigenous cultures, one of the oldest being the Aborigines who have been traced back 40,000 years with the use of ancient didgeridoos for healing. Ancient Egyptians also used sound to heal, as they built their temples with sound chambers. These chambers and other sacred sites were built taking into account the musical modes and notes and the sound of the instruments used.
Sound healing is delivered through the use of Himalayan and crystal singing bowls, gongs, tuning forks, tonal and rhythmic instruments and the voice.
Sound healing is ideal for those struggling with stress, tension, anxiety, chronic pain, overall fatigue and feelings of sadness.
Sessions are conducted with the clients fully clothed and lying either face down or face up. Where necessary sessions can be completed in the seated position. Clients comfort is considered for the most conducive outcomes.
The singing bowls are used near or in contact with the body and produce a soothing sound. As different instruments affect a person in different ways, the instruments used for your sound healing will be selected to address your specific concerns.
During sound healing sessions, participants enter a meditative state that induces a deep relaxation response. This allows your body to come back to its natural healthy state and positively affects mood and sense of well-being.
